Louise Johnson is one of Australia’s leading harpists. After receiving an Australia Council Study Grant, she studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Salzedo Summer Harp School in the United States with world-renowned harpist and teacher, Alice Chalifoux. She was for several years Guest Principal Harp and Second Harp at London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of such eminent conductors as Claudio Abbado and Richard Hickox. Louise was principal harp of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years.

Louise has performed with all the major Australian Symphony and Opera and Ballet Orchestras, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Australia Ensemble. She has also performed with artists such as Cher, Sammy Davis Jnr and the Bee Gees, and has toured Australia with the Bolshoi and Sadler’s Wells Ballet Companies. Louise is the Director and Founder of Harp Holiday, Founder and Principal Teacher of Sydney Harp School, Music Director of Roseville Music Club and Patron of the Harp Society of NSW.
