Canticum Chamber Choir

Canticum Chamber Choir with Emily Cox

  • Sumptuous and evocative choral works by eminent northern hemisphere composers from the Renaissance and the 20th/21st century, including:  Italian composer Ildebrando Pizzetti (Requiem), a choral transcirption of Elgar’s beloved Nimrod from “Enigma Vatriations”, a gem of English Renaissance polyphony, the Lamentationsby Robert White (excerpts), and works by American Joan Szymko (Ubi Caritas), Norwegian Trond Kverno (Ave Maris Stella) and Estonian Urmas Sisask (Benedictio).

Under the leadership of founding Music Director, Emily Cox, the Canticum Chamber Choir is devoted to presenting high quality repertoire in a diverse range of choral ensembles.  World, Australian and Queensland premieres have been hallmarks of the ensemble’s repertoire since its formation in 1995.  Canticum particularly values working with local composers.  With an ever-expanding world of music to explore, Canticum strives to provide audiences with inspiring and memorable choral experiences.

Flinders Quartet

  • SHOSTAKOVICH : Through the Lens of the String Quartet

An ensemble whose mission it is to ensure everyone has a chance to fall in love with the music of the string quartet, Flinders Quartet’s commitment to the continued growth of the genre is second to none.  In this program Flinders Quartet will continue to push the creative boundaries with its take on a 21st century Shostakovich cycle: 15 string quartets in 75 minutes.

Venue:  Coffs Harbour Education Campus.Early Bird Ticket sales end Friday 15 March at Midnight.
