Our Spring season of three performances commences on 14th October with Shoshin Trio, a piano trio, presenting music for the romantic soul. The trio comprises Amber Davis, violin, Liz Neville, cello and Bernadette Harvey, piano. Amber and Liz have relocated locally after illustrious careers with some of the world’s leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, the ACO and the SSO. Bernadette, who garnered the ABC’s prestigious “Young Performer of the Year” award in 1987, tours extensively both in Australia and overseas and was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2000 for her contribution to Australian music.
On 4th November we present, in conjunction with Musica Viva, Daniel Rojas & Ensemble Apex Strings presenting the classically flavoured music of Latin American composers including Rojas, Rodriguez and Piazzolla. This timeless, vibrant music never fails to thrill. This will be an evening none should miss.
Our final recital on 2nd December sees the return to our stage of Bernadette Harvey, this time as a piano soloist. Bernadette is champion of Australian music with the Coffs Harbour performance including the world premier Peggy Polias’s Sonata, commissioned by the Sydney International Festival.
