Our abbreviated Winter season is introduced on 17th June by Adam Herd, clearly casting a wistful eye of Autumn pictures around the world. Adam is no stranger to us. A piano competition winner in both Finland and Australia, his debut CD “From Shadows” received a well-deserved five stars from Fine Music magazine. Geographically grouped, Adam takes us on an Autumnal journey around the world. Beginning with the dark and brooding Finnish Autumn, through to a nostalgic UK. The United States offers a glimpse of the crisp and buoyant mood the autumn breeze brings. The European bracket features a recently discovered Debussy work, conjuring images of Autumn storms. Adam’s well considered programmes are always a delight. This recital is no exception. A fortnight later on 1st July we will present through Musica Viva, with the very kind assistance of the Coffs Harbour City Council, a programme entitled “Through all Nature to Eternity” featuring Lior and Tinalley String Quartet. Renowned for his beautiful voice and diverse musical interests, the performance promises to provide an eclectic experience from Ravel, Dvorak through to Lior’s own compositions.

Lior burst on to the Australian music scene in 2005 with his stunning debut album – “Autumn Flow”. Recorded and released entirely independently, the album became one of the most successful independent débuts in Australian history with sales surpassing Platinum. A swag of accolades followed, amongst them three ARIA nominations – including Best Male Artist. Most artists set out with an ambition to build a career based on musical credibility and integrity whilst maintaining an independence and individuality in their craft. Lior is certainly part of that rare breed that has achieved this whilst garnering a great degree of success and critical acclaim.
“A damn-near-perfect display of incisive and thoughtful music-making.” LIMELIGHT MAGAZINE
