For the past 12 years, Acacia Quartet has gained overwhelming praise for their versatility and inventive programs. Acacia’s international debut was in 2016, performing at the Roundhouse in Vancouver, Canada. The following year they were invited to Berlin by the Christine Raphael Foundation to perform and record. Acacia engagements include performances at Sydney’s Opera House and City Recital Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, alongside extensive regional touring in New South Wales and Victoria.

“There are many fine string quartets on the Australian musical landscape. The Acacia Quartet has earned their place amongst the best.”

Two Pianos and a Clarinet

  • BACH
Concerto for two keyboards in C major, BWV 1061
Chorale Preludes (Arranged for two pianos)
    Duo Sonata
  • BRAHMS
    Liebeslieder Waltzes
  • RAVEL
Ma Mere L’Oye (Arranged for two pianos)
  • BACH
Trio Sonata No. 1 in E-flat major, BWV 525
Trio Sonata No. 3 in D minor, BWV 527
Trio Sonata No. 5 in C major, BWV 529

This concert largely focuses on Bach, reframed into a modern context. Imagine a Bach Fugue and a Chopin Nocturne performed by, for example, a Brass ensemble, and it becomes clear that Bach’s music stands regardless of the performing forces.

This new arrangement for clarinet and piano aims to re-capture the chamber music qualities of the original versions.
